We can even go further since our life is hid in Christ it is also hid in God. Our life is not hid in the Christ that walked this earth but it is hid in the resurrected, ascended Lord who sits at the right hand of God. This Christ waits until his enemies are his footstool. This signifies to us that all is not totally revealed for there remains something that must come to pass even as we wait patiently doing the will of God that we might receive the promise.
And what is the promise? The promise is hid in Christ who waits for his enemies’ submission before he appears in his glorified form. John saw his glorified form and wrote of it in the book of revelation. Stephen said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. Acts 7:55,56 He saw the Glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. The persecutors saw his face as the face of an angel; they saw a glimpse of the life in Stephen that was hid from the world. The name Stephen means crown a "diadem” a symbol of divine sovereignty placated with jewels like the throne of God. Stephen had the mind of Christ and could declare” lay not this sin to their charge…” He spoke in the same voice as Jesus on the cross. He was crowned with death but saw his life hid in Christ and he saw something no man has seen since. He saw Jesus standing in his glory.
It was necessary for God to hide the tree of life in the Garden of Eden lest man partake of it and live forever. Gen 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. The way means; a road or course of life OT:1870 a road (as trodden); figuratively, a course of life. Jesus Christ is the way, the “hodos." I am the road by which your spiritual progress is determined. I am the means by which you obtain your salvation and the salvation yet to be revealed. I am the mode, the way things happen, the fashion and the creation of your life hidden in Christ and God. This is the way we must travel in this world. Totally dependent on the Holy Spirit so we may remain untainted by the philosophies of this world. Adhere to this admonition of the scriptures.
Col. 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Col.2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. This is our journey in this life. Knowing who we are in Christ and knowing our life cannot be touched or corrupted by anything in this perverse and untoward generation. Phil 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.
