WHO ARE YOU? LESSON THREE WHO ARE YOU? LESSON THREE

One of the great provisions our gift of salvation provides is the righteousness of Christ. His righteousness provides everything we need to live his life on this earth. We stand before our Father just as if we had never sinned and by his word we are made clean. This is a miraculous miracle! Lucifer could not do in heaven what we can do on this earth. He was thrust out of heaven but we are translated into the kingdom of God's dear son. Delivered from darkness, delivered from death and freed from the bondage of death we were subjected to for all our lifetime. Even Adam and Eve did not have the provisions we are given through the precious promises of God. Let the word of God speak for us, to us and in us.

Col.1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

Heb. 2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

2Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

1Peter 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

2Peter1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Let us not live in denial of these great promises that clothe us with his righteousness and provides for us a life free from sin by laying aside the weights of unbelief. We are not left as orphans having no provision. We are not left at the mercy of our old man. We are not subject to our old man’s ways for we are given a new nature and empowered to overcome every obstacle in life. We have an inheritance that is ever present in our daily lives. We will never go bankrupt nor run out of our Father’s provision. While others confess how difficult it is to walk with the Lord we proclaim the unsearchable riches of Christ available in our life. Our faith in his righteousness does not operate from a place of need or lack but rather a position of abundance for we know nothing can stand against God’s elect. No one can take away nor can any experience take us away from the love of God.

Many of our dear Christians are unaware of this great gift. They are too busy seeking power and position. Their doctrine seeks to elevate the status of the individual. Check other web sites and see how many call themselves prophets and apostles. Many preach Christ out of envy and have forgotten the exhortation, “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” Rom.12:3.

Rom 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

We become partakers of the divine nature when we submit to his righteousness.

Rom.12:16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Or

Rom 12:16 And don't think you know it all! TLB You will see the error in the doctrine of some because it seeks to make promises of a greater knowledge and position only attainable by a few. The teaching will rally around a truth only contained and available in a few and often denying what we already have in Christ while In fact … all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

2Cor.1:20 But the righteousness of Christ is a great gift a large pearl worthy of our complete attention.

1Cor 8:1 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. Knowledge has a way of inflating ones ego into a false sense of importance while Charity is the house-builder.

Rom. 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.

To get a hold and to take for yours is the primary actions of this word, receive (lambano). It denotes a passive or aggressive appropriation and depends on how much the receiver really wants to embrace the need for the gift of righteousness. Receiving is a genuine appropriation of his righteousness throughout our lives. As we progress in our walk we grow more aware of our need for his righteousness. We build a foundation that rules our daily life in his righteousness. Just as sin was our base and our foundation there was really nothing we could do to uproot our position in the human race because of the disobedience of Adam. The obedience of Christ has now replanted, engrafted in the word and re-rooted our lives in him. Like David we exclaim with a loud voice, “I have hid thy word in my heart that I might not sin against thee.”

Rom 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. 20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: 21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Now, grace reigns in our mortal bodies by our faith in Christ. What use to rule now reigns no more in our hearts and minds. What reigns now is his righteousness in us. Once we were a factory of sin now we have become a producer of the righteousness of Christ. Oh, glory and honor to our obedient brother who after his death and resurrection sent us the Comforter to guide us into all things concerning him. Note that if we preach under the power of the Comforter the out base of our words will be to shew. What will the messenger, the pastor or the angel preach to the hearers. They will announce the good tidings in explicit detail which will glorify Christ in us and not us.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

The Psalmists cried out. “Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD: 20 This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter”, Ps.118:19.

We are given the opportunity to receive the very attributes of the son of God. This is something we cannot earn or manufacture through a process or by following a pattern or by following certain steps. This is a gift, not something we merit. It comes through the power of the Holy Spirit and can only be maintained by walking in the spirit. This righteousness removes all guilt and condemnation that has existed ever since the fall of Adam and Eve. The righteousness of God is the continued operation of the spirit of God after the blood of Christ cleanses us from all sin.

1John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

“Oh, Lord how my desire is to wear your robes of righteousness for I have no other hope than to partake of your divine nature. While others seek your power and fame I seek your righteousness for without it no man can see God. The righteousness of Christ in me is of great value” Read these scriptures and meditate for on them for a few minutes. They are the heart of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Rom. 9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. KJV and Rom. 9:16 It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy. NIV

And so God's blessings are not given just because someone decides to have them or works hard to get them. They are given because God takes pity on those he wants to. TLB 16 So then [God's gift] is not a question of human will and human effort, but of God's mercy. [It depends not on one's own willingness nor on his strenuous exertion as in running a race, but on God's having mercy on him.] Amp 1Peter 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

2Peter 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
