WHO ARE YOU? LESSON ONE WHO ARE YOU? LESSON ONE

There are so many voices in the world deceiving many Christians who have not had their senses exercised to a point where they can discern these voices. Heb.5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13 For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

What is milk? Milk is the substance that keeps babies alive until their digestive system can mature to a time when they can have solids. When we get older we cannot live on milk alone. We must turn to solids to complete our digestive system’s purpose. Those who only drink milk are weak. Those who eat meat move to a spiritual place of discernment. Unfortunately, many are easily persuaded to depart from the simplicity of the Gospel, because they are beguiled by Satan who comes in the form of light with a substitute for meat. Satan often appears as an angel of light. He looks and acts like a minister of the gospel but the words in his sermon are from the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. These words are easy to identify for they focus on you and not Christ. Listen to his messenger’s words.

Gen.3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. The text does not capitalize gods but it is the same word as God. There is no distinction between these words. Let us read again what was really spoken to Eve; for god doth know...you shall be as god. The definition of this Hebrew word, OT:430 elohiym (el-o-heem); plural of OT:433; gods in the ordinary sense; because eloheem is a plural word some bible scholars interpret this to mean the family of God and somehow proves that we preexisted with God. Eloheem is not the name of our Father. It is an ordinary name for god in the general sense. It is a reference to his presences but not his total personality. It is as if you were to address someone as "Sir, or Madam" rather than by their name. It is not a word strong enough to build a doctrine of preexistence.

This idea we shall be like gods was first introduced by the serpent. Thus the acceptance of this message from the serpent caused the fall of Adam and Eve and plunged us all into this chaos we now live. This knowledge came from the wrong tree. This lie was first heard in the Garden but has woven itself into the psyche of man for many generations and is raising its head even now. The implication we shall be as gods is that you will be able to control your own life and that you do not need God. Other implications are drawn that focus upon your credibility as a spirit being from the foundation of the world. Therefore, you are really not a sinner but a spirit being who lost consciousness of the spirit world. The possibility of this being truth cannot be developed from one word nor turned into sound doctrine. Adam was pattern man of the one to come. He was a proto-type of Christ but he was not the Christ. If we consider that we were in the loins of Adam we might consider that we are proto-types of Christ but not the Christ.

From the word, "God," others claim because it is plural it means family. In order to make this claim there must be a reference to this in the Hebrew but there is not. In verse 26 it records, "let us make man," but in verse 27 it says, "so God created man" the reference let us is omitted. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. There is no mention of family or that our spirits were present at the time God made man. Perhaps we can take the word “them” in verse 27 and conclude that “Them” means all of us but in order to justify this we would have to find other scriptures to verify. The words Let us and our likeness does not exhibit the existence of any people presently living on the earth. Also note that in Chapter 2 "God" is translated "Lord" but is still the word eloyhim. Eloyhim said, "let us rest" but he blessed and he rested on the seventh day. Again, it is the plural form of "God" but referred to in the singular, he and not us. Let us make man does not make reference to whom God may be referring in his conversation nor does it relate to his person only his work. Just because God is in plural form does not mean that we were with him as the time of creation. This is the foundational doctrine of Joseph Smith. All the baby spirits were born came from heaven and were placed in the womb of their mothers. We are the seed teaching also implies our spirit was perfect and innocent but needed to develop and mature thus we are now in a state of having to remember our former identity.

Let us make: nasha (nasah) `asah (aw-saw'); a primitive root; to do or make, in the broadest sense and widest application (as follows): OT:6213 does not refer to family or preexistence nor does this word relate to God’s person it only refers to the work. Us could be eliminated since it is not in the Hebrew text and could read Eloyhim made or Eloyhim rested.

After our likeness: kidmuwteenuw demuwth (dem-ooth') OT:1823; from OT:1819; resemblance; concretely, model, shape; adverbially, like: an idol. Similar in fashion but still does not imply family. God could be referring to me, myself and I, various cases or male and female since He describes in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Two distinct entities, which are incorporated in the first Adam (one man) created in the similitude of Elohiym.

Now in Gen 2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens. This is the first time generations and Yahweh is used. It does not say that the generations of the heavens and the earth created man nor the earth or the heavens. The word "generations" is OT:8435 towledah (to-led-aw'); or toledah (to-led-aw'); from OT:3205; (plural only) descent, i.e. family; (figuratively) history: is not incorporate in the word Elohiym nor does Yahweh refer to generations. ….the generations created, in the day, this generation or family was created by Yahweh-Elohiym and this family was not created before the day nor does the scripture imply their existence before the day. This was the same day the earth and the heavens were made. Our pre-existence in Christ is in the sense that he foreknew us, not that our spirits were in a pre-existent innocent state present in the day Elohiym created the heavens and the earth.

The words written are not to challenge those who may believe in pre-existence, they only serve to possibly help create a platform that demonstrates the difference between implying something from the scripture or reading, into them something felt in the heart but not thoroughly lifted out or justified from the scriptures. Too many times the Hebrew words are used to challenge or made to say things that are not really implied but are used to challenge or create various doctrines. Often we see clever little deviations using Hebrews words to justify a doctrinal position rather than letting the words lead us into Christ. A launching pad is made by interpreting a word to mean such and such which then gives license to leap into the past that never existed. A premise is stated and then more premises are added until we do not know what the angel of light is even talking about.

For example, if I stated that we were actually fallen angels who followed Lucifer I might sound profound. If I further stated that because we fell from our original state God took pity upon us and made a plan for our recovery by sending Jesus, I might sound even more profound. I could use this passage of scriptures to help persuade you; Mark 5:2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, Mark 5:15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. In other words we were fallen and taken captive by legions but Jesus had compassion upon us and freed us so we could return to our original state. Thus I established a doctrine, which has no validity. It would be a different gospel. It is simply made up by using scriptures to prove an unsound teaching. I can make the scriptures say what I want but not necessarily what God is saying. Thus I would plunge many into error and pervert the truth. I could easily draw others with words of how glorious we were before Lucifer carried us away but God saved us. For when we fell we lost sight of who we really were. We were angels or messengers of the true God who became deceived by the promise of being something we were never meant to be.

Listen to this passage of scripture; Isa. 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: Do you hear what he said in his heart? I will ascend and exalt my throne and sit in the place of authority only reserved for God. It was all about him and not God. Just like saying we were something before the foundations were made. We were spirit and not man. We lost our true identity. Who are we talking about? We are talking and exalting ourselves and not God.

1Cor. 2:3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory.
