THE PURPOSE OF GOD: ROMANS 8
Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. (NIV)

Romans 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. 20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, 21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first-fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

Romans 8:21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. (NIV)

Our study is in Chapter 8 of Romans. We are going to connect some dots and iota's. The subject of futility is introduced in the scriptures by Paul. Futility is an age of moral depravity, vanity, and unsuccessful search for purpose. All of Creation has been made subject to futility unwillingly. The word futility is translated from the Greek word mataiotes and means morally depraved, having no purpose and empty. It is as useless and profitless as any idol material or ethereal. It has the idea of tentative manipulation, i.e. unsuccessful search, or (adverbially) to no purpose. Now we see to what creation has been made subject. It is subject to aimless pursuits, mindless actions and the loss of purpose. Before being subjected to this vanity, creation was alive, had direction and a sure purpose but it was condemned to lose its purpose. At one time Creation did not decay; nor had it lost Innocence; nor was it made to drink the blood of humanity or the blood of the saints of God.

Each night or age creation was renewed by the dew of the morning. No rain fell upon the earth for rain is the moisture of the earth gathered in the clouds and returned; but the dew was from the heavenly realm of the Creator's throne and replenished creation afresh each age. No wonder why scientist can never really know the age of the earth; nor will they tell our age for we drink of the same dew. Each day was made new; each age brought a new purpose and reason for existence. Creation did not know futility and only lived for the purpose of God. Now all of Creation waits on tiptoe for an age of reversal. An age spearheaded by sons of God who are destined to release all of Creation from this age of futility, and restore the complete purpose of their Creator. Oh, who has seen such a thing and who has heard this mystery?

1 Cor. 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. Isa. 64:4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

The definition of purpose in the Greek; 4286 prothesis (proth'-es-is); from NT: 4388; a setting forth, i.e. (figuratively) proposal (intention); specifically, the show-bread (in the Temple) as exposed before God: KJV - purpose, shew [-bread]. NT: 4388 protithemai (prot-ith'-em-ahee); middle voice from NT: 4253 and NT: 5087; to place before, i.e. (for oneself) to exhibit; (to oneself) to propose (determine): KJV - purpose, set forth.

We have been called, invited and appointed by an invitation via our Father to participate in the setting of all Creation free. Eph 1: 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will- 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. NIV

I am sure by now you have already received a great blessing just by reading the definitions above. But let us share together this understanding of purpose. This word purpose takes on a form. It is not just some ethereal idea or doctrine belonging to some strange group. Purpose has substance, it has a body, provides nourishment to the hungry and most of all it can be felt by creation.

Our study points us to the showbread also called the bread of his continuous presence or the bread of his face. Oh, how wonderful to see that we become the bread of God's purpose. I have meat (bread) which you know not. In our temple is the bread of his continuous presence the food of God. This bread was baked on the Sabbath and replace on the Sabbath. This bread was eaten by the priests on the seventh day.

By faith we are leaving the sixth day. Now by faith we are entering the seventh day from Adam. The day we cease from man and enter into the Sabbath or the day of the Lord. His day of rest that we enter in by faith. We have been ordained, sanctified, and prepared to become this bread. We are the bread that represents his presence and the very image of the face of Jesus the bread from heaven. We are his purpose in the earth. We are his firstfruits bringing forth the expectation of all creation.

Hebrew 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

So we see our destiny. So we see our purpose. Living unto God and not ourselves 1 Cor. 8:5,6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

The showbread was twelve loaves baked from fine wheat flour harvested during Pentecost; arranged in two rows showing forth the first Adam and the last Adam, Jesus and his body. Each loaf contained two omers of flower. An omer is a dry measure but a measure that was chastened by constant blows at the threshing floor to become a pure measure, even as Christ endured. We endure fiery trials travailing for our release.

Cups of frankincense obtained from trees and burned in the fire were placed around the row of cakes to give forth a good fragrance of the work complete by the death of Jesus on the tree. 2 Cor. 2:15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved…Salt was mixed with the frankincense, which had not lost it savor. These loaves were baked in the fire even as Christ and his church. This is our pain, which causes us to groan with all of Creation for our adoption. This is why Paul admonishes us: Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service (purpose). 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I beseech us to present ourselves in this manner so we may become the bread of his presence in the earth singing the songs of Zion and chorusing the new song to harmonize the creature out of the bondage of corruption and into the age of the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Rev. 14:3-4 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne . . .and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth . . .These were redeemed from among men, being the first fruits unto God and to the Lamb.
