Ps.149:6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; 7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; 8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; 9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.
The five previous lessons have made a platform for the saints to spring forth and to enter into the warfare of restoring the earth. ..the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn: 4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations… Isa.61: 2 & 4 Note the day of vengeance of our God is a day of restoring and building. It is not an expression of a vendetta or a day of destruction.
This process began in the book of Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. Acts4:24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God …31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled… This could well read the believers were with one mind and in one place bringing forth praise and prayer from a corporate expression uniting all believers in a common goal toward the manifestation of the Christ in the earth. Their common interest is Christ manifested in the earth through them to bring about … creation’s (liberation) from bondage to decay and (bring) creation into the glorious freedom of the children of God. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. Rom.8
We stand before God at the threshold of the third day with praise and prayer before our God. This is an opportunity to lift up our voices in one accord with one mind to express the heart of our Father as the collective body of Christ. We are joined to the Lord as one Spirit to draw forth the word of God as a two edged sword to execute comfort, to build and repair the desolation of many generations. Our praise will bring down the imagination of kings, presidents and nobles who think they can control and rule the world that belongs to God. (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. This honor have all the saints of God. 2Cor.10:4-6
Understanding this honor will bring great anticipation when we assemble our selves together. We will sense the joy of our God. We will know that the joy of the Lord is our strength. Our high praises will bring forth a corporate expression of Christ in the midst of his church. We will not be able to hold our praises back for we will desire to bring forth the high praises of God in our assembly. Our high praises will bring us to our knees. We will see every knee bow and every tongue declare that Jesus is Lord. We will change the world.
