I was thinking about parallels...the natural temple the spiritual temple, the government of man, the government of God... the obvious ones: day to night, loss to gains and singleness and marriage. Part of why I am in this framework of thought is because of a question raised in me when listening to a very basic teaching Solomon. It made me wonder is there ever really a union of the two the natural and the spiritual. And if so when would it be clear...as many things seem so very unclear in the times we live in. While at the same time it made me seek as in a journey of deep searching deep; and there in is where I began my study.
Looking up the word “parallel” I found the word analogous: comparable in certain respects, typically in a way that makes clearer the nature of the things compared... revisiting the word parallel I found: occurring or existing at the same time, a person or thing that is similar or analogous to another. Parallel lines: aligned, likeness, analogy, relation aka join, bear a resemblance to, imitate, echo, remind one of, duplicate, mirror aka reflection, follow.
Reflecting on these words brings several scriptures to the front... Isa.28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
Matt. 22: 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment.
2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Zach. 2:10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD. 11 And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee. 12 And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.13 Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.
A holy habitation...Eph.2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God: 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
Another parallel... and with that I am at peace to see this is not about just me but by the HS we are built together. How? built upon His rock (informal a precious stone, esp. a diamond.) and not on sand (figurative without reliable foundations or any real substance.) Wow: what a contrast that image sends...
Matt. 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.
Coming full circle this has gotten my mind off the seen and moved me to search out the unseen, leaving me mindful that there in is strength and joy. Drawing me further in, I see something I did not see before...a door in. Bringing the natural and the spiritual together as one.
Matt. 6:1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father, which is in heaven. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
In these very intense times it has been obvious to me we all need to hit the ground running in prayer yet how that plays out in me has been a journey. Rev. 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. Amen and Amen
