Paul and Silas beaten publicly, received many stripes before being arrested in Philippi. They surrendered to the Lord and sang psalms and hymns while in chains jailed in the inner hole of hell itself. Yes, the Philippian church was born out of tribulation suffered by the apostles. The Apostles established the Church of Philippi through much tribulation but infused the church with a pure doctrine and overlaid her with pure gold. 1Kings 6:21 So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: pure 5462 cagar, a root word to shut up and surrender the very experience of Silas and Paul. Job 11:4 For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes. Ps. 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
The word pure means unadulterated, having no mixture of any kind in a physical, chemical, ceremonial and moral sense. We think of pure gold or pure silver as uncontaminated having no other substance. Pure olive oil is transparent and clear without any dregs because it is violently beaten, bruised and crushed. Deut 32:14 and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape; this was the grape that was boiled down with all the scum removed until it was a pure red wine perfectly fermented and ready to drink. 2Sam. 22:27 With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; pure is the process of being purged, polished, clean, transparent and well-examined in order to be presentable to God.
When we exercise our mind to think on what is pure we begin a process that places the helmet of salvation on our heads. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God
Rom.12:2 Conformity is the schema, the pattern or the blue print set by a fallen race. Metamorphose is the process of transformation of your thoughts and intent of your innermost being, the residence of your reality and true identity. Few ever find themselves in this place of worship and meditation for it is the bosom of God. Some do not even know there is such a place. No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. (John 1:18) No believer can declare the Father until he finds this place of purity. For we which have believed do enter into rest, For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. He is freed from the schema or pattern of this world
thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head. Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it. ( Heb.4, Ps.21:3, 24:3, 119:140)
2Peter 3:1which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: Peter exhorts us to wake up fully and become aware of our surroundings and distinguish between what is darkness and what is the real son-light. The process of metamorphose is a daily exercise of your mind. It is just like going to the gym everyday to exercise your body only godly exercise profits much. Eph 4:17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Vanity means depravity, empty, manipulation, unsuccessful search and having no purpose but being pure and renewed in the spirit of your mind opens these doors. Matt.5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure,1John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
